Our basic principles are commitment, respect and responsibility. We are based on a solid concept that each patient has their own individuality; We seek to offer a cozy environment, prioritizing a level of excellence in care with maximum privacy so that each patient feels unique.
Our focus is to offer an experience in which the physical and mental integration of each one is a priority, and that plastic surgery can contribute to the maintenance of this harmony.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the most appropriate age to have plastic surgery?
The ideal age for a patient to undergo plastic surgery depends on each patient and, mainly, on each procedure that is desired to be performed. There are surgeries that must be performed when you are still a child (for example, Cleft Lip and Protruding Ear surgeries); in others, elderly people are fully capable of performing them (for example, eyelid plastic surgery). However, in general, there are some contraindications to plastic surgery for very young patients (infants or early childhood) or very elderly patients. Each case must be evaluated individually by a plastic surgeon.
- What is the risk of a plastic surgery?
Every surgical procedure, in any branch or medical specialty, presents risk to patients. These risks may be higher or lower, depending on the surgery and the patients’ health. In the case of plastic surgery, these risks are minimal, even because before any procedure, the patient is rigorously pre-evaluated by the plastic surgeon. The SBCP and all its member doctors are committed to patient’s health and well-being. Therefore, a rigorous, multifactorial medical evaluation is always performed by the plastic surgeon beforehand and even in the post-surgery period.
- Do plastic surgeries leave many scars?
This is one of the biggest concerns of the patients. In fact, plastic surgery is a surgical procedure that involves cutting the skin. And like any cut in the skin, the scar is a natural result. However, the advancement and refinement of plastic surgery techniques have meant that, in most procedures, the scars are “hidden”, very discreet or almost imperceptible. Actually, in some cases, the scar is in fact imperceptible to the common eye. During the appointment with the plastic surgeon, he/she will explain in detail to the patient all the consequences of this surgery and its possible scars.
- How is the post-surgery period after plastic surgery?
Each plastic surgery must be evaluated individually according to each patient’s profile. The post-surgery period of a plastic surgery will be adequate to each procedure that is to be performed, ranging from a few weeks to months. The fundamental is for each patient to understand that the final result of a plastic surgery is directly related to the unrestricted observance of the post-surgery conduct indicated by the doctor. Non-observance and non-compliance with this conduct may compromise not only the result of the surgery, but also the patient’s health.
- Can hypertensive and diabetic people undergo plastic surgery?
A priori, yes, as long as their hypertension and diabetes are fully under control. In these cases, as in all pre-surgery cases, a wide range of exams is requested by the plastic surgeon and only if the results of these exams are satisfactory, the professional will proceed with the treatment towards the surgery.
- What is the recovery time?
- Rhinoplasty: 7 to 10 days of rest and time off work.
- Silicone Implant: 3 to 5 days of rest and time off work.
- Can I have more than one plastic surgery at the same time?
Yes, it is possible to perform two or more plastic surgeries at the same time, however this possibility will depend on the types of surgeries you want to have done, the patient’s health and, mainly, the plastic surgeon’s evaluation, which is always very rigorous and in which it is possible that the professional even contraindicates such association.
